On Tuesday, gay and lesbian couples, parents and families of LGBT people, people of faith and goodwill, and straight allies from across Iowa gathered for Marriage Equality Day at the Capitol. Our team of over 80 people shared hundreds of stories, delivered thousands of postcards, and engaged in countless face-to-face meetings in support of marriage equality with Iowa legislators, leadership of the Iowa Senate and House, and Governor Culver.
If you were unable to attend Marriage Equality Day at the Capitol – you can still help! Click
here to send a message to your legislator in support of marriage equality. We need everyone – LGBT, straight allies, PFLAG parents, faith and political leaders – to share your story and tell your legislator that you support marriage equality. In the weeks and months ahead, sharing your story with Iowa legislators is the most important thing you can do to ensure the freedom to marry for gay and lesbian couples in Iowa.
