Connie Ryan Terrell
Connie Ryan Terrell has led the statewide Interfaith Alliance of Iowa as executive director since 2002.
Connie is a well-known voice in Iowa's public square, Protecting Faith and Freedom in Iowa, and challenging progressive people of faith and goodwill to actively shape the state's public debate on issues of religious freedom, equality and justice.
She is frequently sought out by Iowa's media and community groups to address issues at the intersection of faith and politics.
Connie serves her community with involvement in various organizations, currently as a board member of One Iowa, chairperson of the Iowa Citizen Action Network (ICAN), and chairperson of the steering committee of the Iowa Immigration Education Coalition.
Connie holds a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa, and a bachelor's degree from Drake University.
Connie lives in Des Moines with her husband, Jeff, and their two beautiful and talented teenagers. She is very active in her faith community serving as an elder and as a youth leader.
