Matt McCoy

Matt McCoy, founder of Resource Development Consultants, has an extensive background in business, fundraising, real estate, capital management, and government/public policy. Mattʼs diverse professional experience includes serving as vice president of community development for the Downtown Des Moines Community Alliance and holding numerous senior management positions in human resources for a Fortune 500 Company.

In addition, Matt presently serves as an Iowa State Senator and chairs several key senate committees. He has served in the Iowa Legislature for nearly twenty years and has received recognition and numerous awards for his continuous commitment to public service. Through his efforts, Des Moines has seen positive economic development, growth and improvement.

Matt is an alumnus of the Des Moines Leadership Institute and was in the Cityʼs first “40-under-40” class to be recognized as an up-and-coming leader in the Des Moines Metro area. He was also named by his national political party as one of the 100 up-and-coming young-elected officials. Active in community activities, he serves on various government, non-profit and civic boards. Matt is a graduate of Briar Cliff College.
