Thank You from Troy Price

Dear Supporters,

I am writing to you today with mixed emotions to announce my departure from One Iowa. I have been offered and accepted a position as Political Director with the Obama for America campaign in Iowa. This was not an easy decision, or one that I made lightly, but I could not turn down the opportunity to help re-elect the President and move our country forward.

Calla Rongerude, our Public Education Strategist will step in as interim Executive Director while the One Iowa board conducts a national search for an Executive Director with the integrity and experience to lead One Iowa. I have the utmost faith in Calla to take the helm and lead One Iowa through this transition. She understands the organization and she shares our vision for One Iowa's future.

Serving as Executive Director has been an honor and a privilege. I am proud of this organization--of our supporters, of our allies, of our work, and most of all, of our successes.

I have been with this organization for almost two years now and I have seen the commitment and loyalty of our supporters, our board, our volunteers, and of our staff.

I want to thank everyone who has supported this organization and who has supported me as Executive Director over the past year. I have met so many great people. You have let me into your homes and into your communities to share our vision for a better Iowa. I am humbled by the confidence so many of you placed in me and I am honored to have been able to lead One Iowa.

And while I may not be here, the work of One Iowa will not let up. We have a great plan to preserve equality, led by our new Why Marriage Matters Iowa campaign. In addition, the staff, board, volunteers, and supporters of One Iowa are as dedicated to the cause of equality as I have ever seen. I am confident that marriage equality will remain for generations to come.

This is not good bye. I will remain close with the organization and continue to be a lifelong advocate for equality. I am so proud to have been a part of this team and I look forward to continue to fight for One Iowa's mission of full equality for LGBT Iowans.
