Family policy groups join EQUALITY: RED BLUE PURPLE

The Child and Family Policy Center and Family Planning Council of Iowa both signed on to One Iowa's EQUALITY: RED BLUE PURPLE coalition opposing a constitutional amendment this week.

In a policy statement, the Child and Family Policy Center wrote:

CFPC supports the rights of gay and lesbian couples to marriage. CFPC further supports policies that provide gay and lesbian individuals and couples with the same rights to become foster parents and adoptive parents as other individuals and couples. Discrimination and prejudice against parents because of their sexual orientation causes harm to children as well as their parents.
