You've heard a lot from us lately, but have you heard what opponents of equality are saying?
"Sen. Gronstal has formed a pact with the rabid homosexual rights lobby in Des Moines and is now working to ram their hostile agenda down your throat!" - Flyer from Iowa Biblical Families "The Flood of 2008 is arguably the most destructive disaster that the state of Iowa has seen -- at least, that is, until last Friday." - Baptist Pastor from Cedar Rapids "I believe this case is actually about going into churches and going in and attacking churches and saying you can't teach anything else." - Glenn Beck on Fox News, despite the Court's message that religious doctrine is unaffected "I suppose, a father and a son or a mother and a daughter... They can come to this state and get married and then go back to the state where they reside." - Rep. Steve King "We believe the homosexual lifestyle is wrong... But we invite homosexuals to the church, and invite them to repent." - Rev. Keith RatliffOur opponents are at the Capitol every day, pushing their divisive agenda. House Republicans are attempting to undermine the Supreme Court's unanimous decision AGAIN today! Your help has allowed us to block any divisive attempts to amend the Constitutiion, SO FAR! But we need you to stay engaged so we don't lose any more votes in the legislature! If you called your legislators yesterday, please call again today! Find your legislators here, then call the Iowa House switchboard at 515-281-3221 and the Iowa Senate switchboard at 515-281-3371 to be patched through to your legislators. If you've yet to email your legislators, please do so now! You can also help by writing your local newspaper to support the Court's ruling. Find your local newspaper here and use our sample letters as models.
