One Iowa to hold rally in Iowa City

On the heels of a federal judge ruling that California’s voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional, One Iowa will hold a rally in Iowa City as part of its week-long launch for its voter education project “Stand Proud, Vote Proud.”
Spokesperson for One Iowa Justin Uebelhor said the goal of Thursday’s rally will be to educate voters about the importance of electing legislators that are in favor of same-sex marriage.
Uebelhor said if anti-gay legislators are elected in November that could be enough to push a constitutional amendment in Iowa banning same-sex marriage.
