SAVE THE DATE: Marriage equality anniversary party!
This time last year, we were anticipating the possibility of marriage equality. Now, a year later, we are one of five states to fully realize the freedom to marry for gay and lesbian couples, and we're throwing a party!
April 3 is a date that will live in our hearts: The day the Iowa Supreme Court declared discrimination against same-sex couples was unconstitutional. We want to recongize the six amazing couples who gave up their privacy and normal lives to help bring equality to our state in the historic Varnum v. Brien court case.
This is your victory too! Whether you're already married, getting married or want a future where marriage is possible, we want you to be part of our celebration.
